THE BIRTH OF A STRIPPER’S HUFFPOST PERSONAL (EPISODE3)

Posted in Media with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on May 30, 2020 by tiltdiary

I had sent my pitch to HuffPost Personal on October 1st, 2019 at 9:47am and within minutes at 9:52am the Editorial Director responded requesting a draft of my full story to see if it would be a fit for HuffPost Personal. He sent along some general guidelines (word count/style/format) and some example articles that he had already accepted and published.
We went back to the drawing board, and I started writing. Most of the segments I have published came to me on dog walks with tiny typing on my phone making sure my feelings, personal experiences, emotions and everything I wanted to share with the world would be captured in this article. Within less than  three days on October 3rd, 2019 the full article was born and submitted at 8:48am. And once more, very quickly on October, 4th 2019 at 6:46am I received an email from the Editorial Director accepting my article and promising to publish it after a few edits. The new deadline was set for October 14th. I was suppose to nudge him to remind him about my piece.
So I did, but the Editorial Director kept postponing the date to publish. First, his assistant editor fell ill. Then one of his family members was ill. He kept asking me to nudge him over and over which I did, but it seemed all a little strange to be honest. No contract was ever sent to me. Just promises in emails. December came and after another nudge he promised to publish early in January. But edits never came … although, he did mention he would “…definitely need photos…” There was a lot of nudging from my end and a lot of promises on his, but then Covid-19 was declared a National Emergency on March 13th 2020. And of course, the Editorial Editor apologized, “I’m sorry that your piece slipped through the cracks. It was completely my fault and I owe you a huge apology. After this whole coronavirus nightmare is over, let’s talk again and see if there’s something else we can do instead. In the meantime — I’m sending you the best thoughts and hope you’re staying as safe and sane and healthy as possible. xx.”

That was a big bummer. I do belief that my article could’ve easily been edited to fit the covid-19 pandemic — after all, California Supreme Court throwing me out of stripping was in the end a blessing. Who knows, maybe if I would’ve not quit when I quit I might’ve contracted covid-19 and be dead by now.

So you’re probably wondering why I’m even wasting my breath on this mini series. Here is why: I know nobody gives a damn about the California law anymore and how it affects strippers. Nobody gave a damn back then, and nobody even gives a damn right now that almost all strippers (expect the ones that are stripping virtually) are out of work. And that is why my article is still timely. It’s about us women who are literally forgotten. Whether it’s a law or a deadly virus, nobody really gives a shit about us strippers and what we do with our money, how we made a difference, saved lives, and fed our families (fury or not).

And therefore I choose to at least publish my own article, because in my opinion, it’s damn good …

Stay tuned … to be continued …

WANNABE WEINSTEIN

Posted in Customers with tags , , , , on April 9, 2018 by tiltdiary

If you’re trying to pull a Harvey Weinstein on a beautiful woman that is clearly out of your league, in or outside of the strip club, please make sure you have adequate finances in the bank for being sued, a Beverly Hills mailing address (a P.O. Box will not work!), a hide away in the Hollywood Hills, and the necessary industry connections to reimburse all promises made. Driving a Toyota and living with your wife in a run down apartment will not work!

I’LL DO IT ON MY OWN

Posted in Jones' Poems with tags , , , , , on March 17, 2018 by tiltdiary

I’ll start all over
You don’t hold the fourth leaf of my lucky clover
I can do it on my own
You’re just a big mouthed clown
I’ll wipe my tears
It’s very clear
Finally leaving behind the shit from the past few weeks
Last thing I need is another freak
Don’t need your help
Your attitude reminds me of limp kelp
No juice behind your words
I don’t care how much it hurts
I’ll start from the beginning
Don’t need your help for winning

MR. SURPRISE MAN

Posted in Customers with tags , , , , , , on April 10, 2017 by tiltdiary

This type of man thinks he’s a genius. Somewhere, somehow he read or learned that in order to keep a woman interested he needs to create excitement. Therefore he will make lots of promises. He will tell you, “Call me back, I have a surprise, ” or, “When I return from my trip I will bring something special for you,” or, “I have good news for you,” or, “There’s something special I have for you.” Mr. SurpriseMan’s surprises are endless, exciting sounding promises. The only problem with this type is that he never has a surprise nor good news. He’s just making it up without following through. Basically, this man is full of shit without being smart enough to realize how this type of “excitement creating” behavior will take effect on how women view him sooner than later.
You can compare it with a dog trainer who bribes a dog with a treat into sitting down. But any time the dog sits the dog trainer won’t give him the treat. Guess what the dog will do very quickly: turn its back to the bad dog trainer and walk away from the fake treat.
And the same happens to Mr. SurpriseMan. He becomes more boring with every fake promise he gives and women turn their noses up in disgust just thinking about him.

THE MOST IMPORTANT LESSON THE STRIP CLUB HAS TAUGHT ME

Posted in Jones' wisdom with tags , , , , , , on June 22, 2016 by tiltdiary

People aren’t inconsiderate or oblivious on purpose. Often times, it’s a lack of communication skills, compassion, and the ability to treat others the way they want to be treated. Being able to walk in someone elses’ shoes is a skill. Compassion is a skill. Communication as well as consideration for another person is a skill. I believe we learn all social skills in our childhood, and often, that’s where the problem starts, however, each individual has a choice whether they want to develop or stay the same. Being able to learn and grow comes with the craving to evolve as well as a deep hunger for truth. Most people are just too comfortable in their Me-Me-Me-Existance plus they fear the truth instead of craving it. Nobody thinks they are the villain. This comes from a lack of self-awareness and the lack of pain through living in denial and delusion. Once I realized that it is for most people enough to just say things, promise things without actually doing them I stopped being hurt by their lack of actions. Often, dreaming about it to them is like they’ve done it already. It feels safer and takes less effort plus the dream is usually better than reality. However, it’s just a dream, and ultimately, they miss out on life. But it’s their life not mine that’s wasted.

STRIP CLUB DRESSING ROOM CONFESSIONS ABOUT THE DREAM WEAVERS

Posted in Stripper Secrets with tags , , , , , , , , , on February 1, 2016 by tiltdiary

After a tiring shift at the club many girls spill deep secrets from their lives. I don’t know if it’s due to the fact that alcohol finally take an effect on them, or maybe exhaustion makes us let our guard down, or maybe we feel so connected to some of the dancers — like the warriors that survived Vietnam — especially, if you pushed together through a daunting shift … We were all exhausted, and she was known to be one of the more introverted, shy girls, but she blurred it out without holding anything back from us, “My boyfriend hurts my feelings all the time. I don’t ask or want anything from him, but he always makes false promises. Last weekend, he told me he would take me shopping, then he promises to take me to Catalina Island, another time, he said he was going to take me to a concert … the promises are endless but he never comes through with any of it.” I felt bad for her. We all know these type of men, so I tried to ease her pain and disappointment, “I know how you feel, but he doesn’t mean to hurt you.” She interrupted, “I know he can’t do all the things he wants to do. He’s not man enough.” I confirmed, “You’re right, he’s isn’t man enough. But also know, that most men think when they fantasize about something it counts as if they actually did it. Most people even live their lives like this. They dream so vividly about their successful career, their perfect relationship, passionate love, and all the things that they will do one day, some day … it seems they get more satisfaction out of the dream than the actual life experience could ever offer them. Most people are dream weavers.” As a stripper you really can’t live that much in fantasies. You have to be a daredevil in order to be a dancer and go back to the club, because it’s so fantasy trashing, a dreamer would never even make it through one shift.

THE DAY AFTER THE STRIP CLUB

Posted in Stripper Secrets with tags , , , , , , on April 16, 2015 by tiltdiary

It is interesting to watch and hear men at the club especially when they are attracted to a dancer. Men — although, known as the sex of fewer words — will get very talkative, and they say interesting things to catch our attention. They will brag about how much money they earn, what businesses or properties they own, and they will try to proof to you how successful and worthy they are. On top of that, they will also tell you how much they love you, that they even feel like you are the one, that they want to get to know you better, that they really feel we have a special connection, heck, they will even plan a future with you. In their defense, they are often under the influence. Some of the married men will suggest that they come and see you weekly as their decompressing night of the week, justifying how stressed they are, or how much they need female attention. They will say these things before and after lap dances. And that is exactly what strikes me as so strange. I mean before the lap dances I get it … kind of. They probably think if they promise you things and confess their love that you are willing to give them more pleasure … but a lap dance is a lap dance … there are rules to it attached, and it is a business arrangement and there is nothing to bargain about. Lap dance is lap dance. However, sometimes, especially when married men say all these things after a lap dance I wonder if it is their unleashes subconsciousness speaking. Suppressed in their daily life only listening to their brain once unleashed the truth reveals and their deep desires for everything they feel they shouldn’t do or have surfaces.

In the end, it doesn’t matter. None of them follow though with what they were saying. The next day, they go back to their “to-do list life,” and what happened the night before becomes suppressed reminding them painfully that they wish to be alive, yet, they only allow an escape once in a while.

LAP DANCE ILLUSION

Posted in Jones' Poems with tags , , , , , , on February 28, 2015 by tiltdiary

She takes your money all night long

You beg her to dance one more song

She is your once upon a time

Looking always so incredibly fine

You are getting drunk on her like on expensive wine

You think, “Tonight, my princess you’ll be mine”

She feels so distant yet so close

Her sweet smell penetrates your nose

You are high on her affection

But you are not in her selection

She will dance and prance

Make you think it’s romance

Drunk on love and sexual power

You forget she’s a delicate flower

You’ll never be her one and only

She’s just a dancer and maybe lonely

She’s welcoming your attention

Leaving you in suspension

You’ll never have her heart

It has turned hard

No matter what you say

She hears it every day

She never lied or tried to pretend

It’s you who doesn’t understands where it ends
