HOW STRIPPING CHANGED ME

Posted in Stripper Secrets with tags , , , , on June 9, 2018 by tiltdiary
Without stripping I would not be who I am today. I was young, innocent, full of trust and romance. Then I started dancing, and I learned and still learn. The insights I have gained about men, women, relationships, marriage are mind blowing to me. I see humanity in a very different light now. I’ve grown up and learned to watch my back, not trust anybody, yet, I’ve become more compassionate. No matter how ugly and mean someone is they most of the time don’t do it on purpose. I’ve learned to dive into the world of a despicable man and felt compassion, even understanding  instead of just judging.
What I know has affected my relationship with my parents (in a very positive way), my sister, my closest family members and my friends. I’ve become more independent and strong, yet, deep down I am still a hopeless romantic and can still get hurt easily under that thick stripper shell. Dancing has changed everything for me and I am glad I’ve had the courage to go for it, and I am glad I am still dancing despite thinking of quitting daily. Dancing can wake you …not just physically and emotionally …also psychologically. It has opened my eyes and taught me what I needed to see. I’ve become more realistic … For example I know today men don’t change. Most people don’t change … You waste less time hoping …

HOW OFTEN DOES A STRIPPER WANT TO QUIT?

Posted in Stripper Secrets with tags , , , , , , , , , on June 7, 2018 by tiltdiary
I think about quitting every day as I think about working an extra night per week. Like I said many times before, stripping is a love-hate relationship. It gives you insights you would never get, it keeps you on the edge, and can empower you, but it also exhausts you, makes you angry, hopeless, sad, and yet, it pays to feed your family and allows you do do what you couldn’t do without this income, like publishing books, rescuing dogs, putting a video together, or simple seeing a chiropractor to fix your jacked up, pain throbbing dancer’s body.

WHAT ARE THE WORST THINGS ABOUT THE PROFESSION OF A STRIPPER

Posted in Stripper Secrets with tags , , , , , , on May 24, 2018 by tiltdiary

Dancing is like a love-hate relationship. You love it so much you cannot imagine to quit but it can be also physically as well as emotionally exhausting. It is a tough profession. We dancers are often the punching bag of society. People go to the strip clubs to let lose, to be who they cannot be outside of the club, to get their fix, or to get a half naked therapist often without even thinking that we dancers are at work and should be appropriately reimbursed for the time we spend with a customer, the advice we give, or even just the patience we have to listen to them. Many customers feel entitled and think we are horny pole dancers who want to go home with them when our shift is over. But we are not. We are entertainers, sexy, sensual dancers, yet, often we are seen as sexually open minded, casual dates.

WHAT ARE THE BEST THINGS ABOUT THE PROFESSION OF A STRIPPER?

Posted in Stripper Secrets with tags , , , , , , , on May 23, 2018 by tiltdiary

The best thing about dancing is that I get to dance, express. With every stage I take or every private dance I do I get the chance to make my audience feel. I can touch people, bring them to life, make them feel something that they buried deep inside, wake hidden desires and spark curiosity about themselves. This applies to men and well as women (the club I work at has a mixed clientele, men, women, couples)

The other thing I really like about dancing is that I choose who I talk to, who I spend time with, or who I dance privately for. At the club that I work at there’s no pressure from management to ask for private dances if I don’t want to. It is entirely up to me who I share my conversation and energy with.

HOW I BECAME A STRIPPER

Posted in Stripper Secrets, Tilt the Book with tags , , , on May 22, 2018 by tiltdiary

When I moved from Europe in 1998 to the US I started working as a fitness instructor teaching mainly yoga and Pilates. In 2003 one of my yoga students handed me an article about Sheila Kelly teaching pole dancing to women as a form of fitness. I was very interested and decided in 2005 to take classes at S-Factor and later I took teacher trainings for pole dancing to ad it to my fitness repertoire. I have been teaching pole dancing, exotic dance, and lap dancing ever since.

In 2008 the economy took a hard hit. The first thing people would cut was their private fitness instructor. My family was struggling financially so my husband and I decided to steak out some high end strip clubs. After all, I studied performing arts in Stuttgart, Germany and had pursued my acting career in Los Angeles as a SAG actress for a decade now, and I was sure I could dance for dollars and save our American Dream. It seemed like a no brainer. I thought I had all the skill and training to take matters into my own hands and bring in enough money for us to live more comfortably. We did a lot of research and after an audition at a fully nude club I started working there. Little did I know that dancing was just about 30% of the job. My journey of becoming a professional stripper was at the very beginning as I learned to navigate through the maze of this secret profession of mine.

I have been dancing ever since but only stayed at the fully nude club for fourth months. My book “Tilt Diary of a Virgin Stripper” details my experiences and challenges at this particular club and how everything changed with me becoming a professional exotic dancer.

HOW A STRIPPER DEALS WITH UNPLEASANT ENCOUNTERS

Posted in Stripper Secrets with tags , , , , , on May 18, 2018 by tiltdiary

Yes, I have been violated, treated badly, and disrespected while dancing. But I have had also many wonderful experiences as an exotic dancer. I guess it’s like in every profession. The Harvey Weinsteins are praying on you, except that when you get violated as an exotic dancers it’s your own fault because you choose this profession and you’re asking for it wearing skimpy clothes and walking around in sexy lingerie. If I would take my sexual assaulters to court society would laugh at me. But if Angelina Jolie takes her violator to court the world is appalled. The world differentiates between regular women and strippers. So if anything bad happens to a stripper it’s her own fault. Meanwhile, we are all just women trying to make a buck, trying to feed our kids, helping our families to live better lives, pay our way through college … But society doesn’t see it that way. My passion is to make people understand that dancers are very sensitive human beings, sometimes, even more sensitive than “regular women.” We have feeling too. Yet, in order to survive in this profession, we have to be tough enough to brush it off and continue to dance …
