LEARNING FROM DOGS WHAT FAMILY MEANS

I have been living with a pack of dogs for over 17 years now, and it has taught me what “family” truly means. Dogs stick together through the bad times and the good, through sickness and through health. Even if one of the pack members doesn’t like the other they still work together as a team despite animosity. The social set up of a dog family is daily strengthened by loyalty and patience. Being together means everything and all. Human families could learn social behavior from wolves and dogs as well as crows and elephants. They seem much more evolved and compassionate than humanity. Soon we will find out that the animal kingdom has what we thought was human privilege, while humanity is lacking exactly what we thought sets us apart from animals.
