One of the stripper stigmas we fight is that all strippers have low self-esteem and are these abused, tormented creatures. It is annoying to be labeled as the “love never worked out for you,” “men treated you badly,” “Desperate for rescue” creature.
Most people, maybe I could even say all people, have somewhere, somehow experienced abuse in their life. Weather it was from a parent, sibling, teacher, classmate, co-worker, boss, or spouse. But that didn’t make you a stripper, right?
Some of us strippers are healthier, more aware, more awake and engaged than the average middle or upper class American.
Don’t label something to distract from your own dysfunction.
