My parents never understood my K9 family and what these dogs mean to me. To them they were just what was holding me back to go and visit them more often and longer, and they held much resentment towards my fury children. In their eyes they were an unnecessary expense, yet, my parents had much pride about me and who I had become. I used to be the black sheep of the family, but in the end, I had never asked them for help, and I had always dealt with all life challenges on my own. It gave them extra strength and time to help my sister. I told my mom, “Please mama, don’t hold a grudge against my fury children. They have taught me so much over the years and turned me into the human being that I am today. With their unconditional love and the purpose they have given me they kept me alive and fill my life with with happiness, contentment, and rewarded me with a way of thinking simple.”
